Cocottes wins the 2024 Hands of Innovation Prize in Craftsmanship
For its 8th edition, in the presence of H.R.H. Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg Guillaume, Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy, and Tourism Lex Delles and Finance Minister Gilles Roth, SNCI and the Chamber of Skill Trades and Crafts presented the Craftsmanship Innovation Award on Thursday evening 16th May 2024.

The Craftsmanship Innovation Award aims to highlight artisanal businesses that stand out through their innovative approach and entrepreneurial dynamism.

The jury, composed of representatives from the co-organizers the Chamber of Skill Trades and Crafts and SNCI, along with their partners: Banque Raiffeisen, Innovative Initiatives - Digital Luxembourg, Ministry of the Economy, Enovos Luxembourg SA, the Intellectual Property Institute Luxembourg (IPIL), Luxinnovation, Lalux Assurances, and Groupe P.M.E., selected the best projects among the 40 presented in five categories.

In total, five companies were rewarded in different categories:

  • Cocottes (Category: Administration/Organization/Management) for the digitalization of its operational processes with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to increase its efficiency and stand out with its innovative approach to healthy fast food.
  • Menuiserie Reckinger (Category: Marketing/Communication) for its innovative woodturning school.
  • Duke Horlogerie (Category: Product/Design), the first "high watchmaking" company in Luxembourg.
  • Luxforge (Category: Service) for its innovative "Power-tool".
  • Saturne Technology (Category: Process/System Production) which distinguished itself with its 3D-printed space engines.
  • The company Anigma received the "Jury's Coup de Coeur" award for its innovative puzzle box, inspired by escape rooms and independently designed, produced, and financed through a highly successful Kickstarter campaign.

Cocottes, under the leadership of Clémentine Venck, executive director, was awarded the Grand Prize "PIA 2024 - The Innovation Prize in Handicrafts by SNCI and the Chamber of Skill Trades and Crafts". The company received a trophy and a check for €7,000.

Ms. Venck expressed her gratitude for this award, which recognizes the work and commitment of her team towards innovation. "We are immensely proud to receive this award. It is a recognition of our work and our commitment to innovation. This award encourages us to continue our development and push the boundaries of our expertise."

Vincent Thurmes, President of SNCI, also praised Clémentine Venck's efforts to further develop the ERP system, particularly for the tracking of reusable packaging.
